World's Smallest Man Offers Hope for Space Travel, Colonies, and the Future of Humanity

The diversity of life on planet Earth is just amazing, and we seem to discover something intriguing nearly every day. In fact, over the last decade I've subscribed to all the bio-science online newsletters, and I am just completely amazed, even blown away sometimes. No, nothing like the folks in Joplin Missouri or Alabama in 2011, but blown away mentally that is. Let me give you a for instance, and then follow that up with a short dialogue on what this could mean for the future of mankind in space.

There was an interesting BBC Asia-Pacific on June 12, 2011 "Philippines Man Crowned World's Shortest" and the man was perfectly proportional, and the article stated;

"A teenager from a poor family in the rural Philippines has been declared the world's shortest man as he turned 18. Guinness World Records presented Junrey Balawing, who is 59.93cm (23.6 inches) tall, with a certificate at his birthday party. Mr Balawing stopped growing when he was two, his father said. He is more than 7cm shorter than the previous record holder, Khagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal, who had held the record since last October."

How is that possible you ask? Well, it seems the human body is an amazing organic marvel and it has the ability to adapt as needed. In this case, it figured out a way to get by, perhaps due to lack of food, and it stopped growing, but the man is perfectly proportional in every regard, just smaller. Think of the ramifications of all that, with such a genetic variation or expression of that type. If he lived in your house, well, your one-story house could become a three-story house for him.

If 1000s of humans that size went to let's say Mars to set up shop in a Martian Colony, they would need less food, and we could make the space ship very roomy for them, lots of leg room. And they'd surely have a major advantage wouldn't they? Is this the future, it very well may be and it would be wise for our scientists to study this, perhaps we can figure out a way to downsize the human race, and that would provide more abundance and space too.

Think of it, a 747 could have 5 levels of seats and 3500 people, now that is a Boeing Aerospace engineers dream come true, and the airlines, well, think of the profit margins! Think of the efficiencies, and imagine the increased abundance, space, etc. Please consider all this.
